I'd been begging anyone that could possibly indulge me, to make me one for my birthday. Everyone smiled politely, muttering something as they walked away. So, I made my own. I screwed up the genoise, twice, and ended up making a plain buttermilk yellow cake into my beloved BCP. It was good, but it's not the same without a good sponge cake.
